Where are your products from?
Our products are from our manufacturing partners in China and Cambodia.
We initially looked to source our entire range from Australia in the hopes to reduce our carbon footprint, however we found that the infrastructure and processes simply did not exist in a way that was sustainable for us.
Instead, we spent over a year trialing different manufacturers abroad, until we landed on a select few that we found to have a strong understanding of our brand ethos as well as a focus on producing high quality products that ultimately reduce the overall impact on our planet.
Are you a carbon neutral business?
No, we’re even better. Carbon neutrality is not really sufficient in our books, we are carbon negative, meaning we remove more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than we emit. We contribute a percentage of each order to organisations such as Greening Australia and OneTreePlanted to ensure we are improving the planet not just with our products, but through our processes as well, this allows us to operate sustainably in every aspect of our shop.
Are these products produced Ethically?
As a brand we feel it is important for us to have transparency when dealing with companies abroad. To ensure peace of mind we request a series of certifications from our manufacturers that comply with ethical and safe working practices.
We look over audits and require these partners have passed certain requirements put in place by the BSCI which follow the international labour organisations (ILO) standards. We also seek to ensure the Living wage is being provided to employees. The living wage ensures that an individual or family are able to afford adequate shelter, food, and the other basic necessities.
We are constantly striving to further improve our supply-chain and logistics processes in regards to both ethical treatment of the people involved, as well as the environmental impacts of these processes.
Do your pegs rust?
No, our pegs are 316 marine grade stainless steel making them durable and corrosion/rust-free.
Why silicone, isn't that just plastic?
Our sand derived silicone is a much safer product for both you and the planet, as it doesn't contain the petro-chemicals or oils found in the vast majority of plastic products.
Our FDA approved silicone is 100% BPA free and food-grade, meaning it contains none of the highly toxic chemicals that can often leech from plastics. As silicone is the safest water-resistant and flexible material on the planet, it can withstand extreme temperatures from your oven, microwave, dishwasher and freezer. This makes it one of the safest and versatile options to reduce single use plastics in your home.

Do you ship outside Australia?
We are now shipping to New Zealand and currently focusing on both markets to ensure the best possible service.
As we expand as a brand our shipping locations will too, stay tuned!
Do you send our products in plastic packaging?
No! that would go against our beliefs here at Sustainashop. We ensure each and every order is shipped 100% plastic-free. Meaning that your products will either come in compostable satchels or recyclable cardboard boxes.
